On the spindle

I am spinning some Merino/Silk 50/50 Roving purchased from Crown Mountain Farms from Chasing Rainbows Dyeworks Color called Abalone. This wants to spin very fine and I am pretty sure were getting lace weight at 40 wraps. I want to spin enough to make a shawl for myself at least I can get more if I need it. You can really see the shine from the silk very pretty. The spindle is a Turkish Spindle hand crafted from Crown Mountain Farms. Their is a picture of the maker he makes very nice ballanced spin for ever spindles in natural woods. My spindle is made from Kokobolo Wood very pretty. I am not able to get to my spinning wheel at the time so am giving the spindles a go again. I like that I can spin anywhere very portable. Well post pictures of updated yarn when that stage is reached.

Wow, what a pretty color that is. Man that is some fine yarn; are you going to ply it? I would think for a shawl you wouldn't need to.

Your spinning looks wonderful! The color is absolutely beautiful too. Will you ply it into lace weight for a shawl or multi-ply it into sport/DK? Wish the cost of gas wasn't so high. I miss coming down to see all of you wonderful ladies. The Coco bolo wood is one of my favorites for beauty. Have you seen Koa wood?
